I teachtwo uniquesessions using a Mat or Chair dependent on which session you would like to do. With a diverse mix of Hatha and Kundalini Yoga, Pranayama (Breath Technique), Meditation and Yoga Dance... these classes are aimed at individuals who have overall good health, but would like to improve some particular conditions, such as mild arthritis, sciatica, joint stiffness, minor back problems, weight management, as well as supporting anxiety and depression, and generally improve overall physical and mental health. During the practice we work with major muscle groups (local and global), as well as our joints, whilst gently promoting Cardiovascular fitness. Yoga provides some elasticity to the spine, firms up the skin, removes tension from the body, strengthens and tones muscles, and helps to correct poor posture. It can act as a preventative measure for diseases such as osteoporosis and arthritis, as well as having a positive influence on the circulatory, nervous and digestive systems. This gentle yoga flow is fun, well attended and a great way to meet new friends....giving yourself that well deserved time and space to be kind to yourself, whilst supporting a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Meditation and Mindfulness
My Meditation and Mindfulness classes are simple, effective and beneficial. I teach and share many gentle ways to meditate including Breath Awareness Techniques, Guided Visualisation, Moving Kundalini Meditation, Himalayan Singing Bowl, Yoga Nidra, as well as working with our Chakra's - our internal energy system. We will share the practice together, delivering essential nutrients to balance, restore, and heal our mind; creating a true feeling of peace, focus and tranquillity.
Yoga Therapy - Classes and Workshops for GP Practice Patients, Residential Care / Nursing Homes, Day Centre's, Charities, or Individual's in a private home.
Yoga Therapy classes and workshops consist of a flexible and gentle adaptation of Hatha and Kundalini Yoga and Meditation practice, for individuals/groups with varying degree's of minor to major physical and mental health challenges, such as Dementia, Cognitive Dysfunction, Learning Disabilities, MS, Stroke, Parkinson's, Motor Neurone, Severe Arthritis, Paralysis, as well as many more conditions. The sessions are practiced in a chair or wheelchair, and by integrating the mind and body, balance can be restored to the physical, physiological, mental and emotional system. This class has a flexible approach, and is aimed primarily in feeling grounded, being in-tune with the body and mind, and content with ability; with the intention of enjoying the practice of yoga postures, movement, and meditation in a safe, relaxed, and friendly environment. I worked as a Community Support Worker/Carer for ten years whilst I was qualifying as a Yoga Teacher; and it was my heartfelt intention to be able to introduce Yoga to individuals who had not or could not get to Yoga themselves, by sharing the amazing benefits that the practice of Yoga gives to everyone. I am able to teach Yoga Therapy in a group or individual basis, together with carers taking part if needed. I teach these sessions in GP practices, residential/nursing homes, day centres, private homes, and with charities. As well as having fun with social stimulation during this session, and making friends; the amazing benefits Yoga gives to the mind and body make this a beneficial and positive session to join.
